5 Shades of Rose Quartz

Not one but two shades were selected as “Color of the Year” by Pantone for 2016. Their decision of choosing two hues, a pastel blue and pink, commonly associated as gender-specific colors, was explained as, “In many parts of the world we are experiencing a gender blur as it relates to fashion, which has in turn impacted color trends throughout all other areas of design. This more unilateral approach to color is coinciding with societal movements toward gender equality and fluidity, the consumer’s increased comfort with using color as a form of expression, a generation that has less concern about being typecast or judged and an open exchange of digital information that has opened our eyes to different approaches to color usage.” That’s what I like to hear! Here are five existing shades that line-up with the concept of Rose Quartz, which is a “warmer embracing rose tone.”

  1. Buxom Feather Boa — A Warm Pink with a Matte finish.
  2. NYX French Kiss — A Warm Pink with a Natural finish.
  3. Estee Lauder Desirable — A Warm Pink with a Natural finish.
  4. Zoya Rue — A Neutral Pink with a Cream finish.
  5. Inglot #356 — A Warm Pink with a Matte finish.
